Celebrate the royal wedding at the original 1810 Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest

It's September, and you know what that means! It's Oktoberfest! ... Wait, it's called Oktoberfest, but it's not held in October?

That's right! The original Oktoberfest started off as a wedding celebration in 1810, which was held in October. The Bavarian King Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen held their party in the famous Theresienwiese, and it ended up being such a massive success that they just had to celebrate again every year since!

And as we know, people sure love to party, so more and more attractions joined the scene until we have the Oktoberfest we know and love today - hosted a little early to take advantage of the longer days and warmer weather, supposedly. Today we know it as a time with lots of drinks, good food, and plenty of things to do and see, but what would our world be like today if their wedding wasn't such a success?

That's why you need to return to 1810 to make sure all goes according to plan and party-like history depends on it! Get people excited with some party balloons, ensuring you have enough excitement to hire a baker, a flower maid, a pretzel cart, and some beer barrels, all in the name of good food and drink, wedding presents, and party tents!

With all of this in place, King Ludwig I and Princess Therese will celebrate like no other royal couple before, all thanks to you! History depends on you, Smeeters, so make it count!
