Brooks Koepka reaches second place...and Tiger Woods progresses!

American Brooks Koepka climbed to second place in the world golf rankings after winning his second major title this year, winning the PGA Championship, while Tiger Woods jumped to 26th place.

Koepka faced a great challenge from Woods and the Australian Adam Scott before taking his third major title on Sunday. It puts a lot of pressure on the world number one Dustin Johnson.

Woods, the former world number one, was on course to win a record-equalling fifth PGA Championship, which would have been his first major title since the 2008 Open, but he fell short by two shots.

The 42-year-old American showed that he was able to restore the level that made him one of the best players in history, just eight months after returning to the field after spinal surgery. Woods, who has won a total of 14 major championships, will still be pleased with finishing at the tournament which ended on August 12th in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Woods is now ranked 26th in the world, having started this year at 668.
